One Voice is the third installment in the Small World Festival's Canadian Cross-Cultural Musical Collaboration series. Under the musical direction of Alan Gasser, this group representing traditions from Latin America, Iran, Eastern Europe, India and West Africa will celebrate the voice as the essential music of human expression – the songs, poetry and passion from around the world that unite in Toronto's unique cultural geography. Following on the heels of last year's World on a String and Drum Nation in 2006, these extraordinary, diverse talents will spend the week in rehearsal and repertoire development. The result is sure to be a groundbreaking celebration of Canada's uniquely diverse vocal traditions mosaic -- one that participants in the workshop which precedes the show will experience and appreciate even more vividly. This stellar group includes Kiran Ahluwalia, Brenna MacCrimmon, Michael St. George with guests Darbazi and Rich Brown.
